Medicinal Chemist VU University most meritorious runner up EFMC prize for Young Medicinal Chemist in Academia

Chris de Graaf, assistant professor Medicinal Chemistry at VU University Amsterdam  has been designated as most meritorious runner up of the 2012 EFMC Prize for a Young Medicinal Chemist in Academia.


The prize is awarded yearly by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC) to acknowledge and recognise an outstanding young medicinal chemist (<35 years old) working in industry or in academia within Europe.


The prize ceremony took place at the International Symposium for Medicinal Chemistry in Berlin, where Dr. de Graaf presented the work of his team on the computer-aided discovery of small molecule modulators of pharmaceutically relevant proteins, like G Protein-Coupled Receptors.
